Attached, please find a document to provide clarification as to which specific types of Veterans educational benefits are eligible for a campus-based tuition exception for non-residents.
RDS will continue to screen all applicants for eligibility for residency for tuition and state grant purposes. These campus-based exceptions are only required when a student is deemed by RDS to be a non-resident at this time and is awarded an eligible benefit.
Please share this information with anyone on your campus that is involved in entering an exception in this case for a student with an award, and will track continued eligibility.
This information is current as of today. The official RDS Guidebook and Campus Responsibility Guide will be updated in the near future to provide clarify on these issues. We will discuss the issues in more detail in upcoming trainings and residency liaison calls.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
